I like weekend.

It's been an awesome Saturday! Clay and I got up and did a bit of reading/net surfing. We finally got up and about and went to our local farmer's market. I like farmers market! We got an awesome breakfast. Clay had a nice quiche and I had an awesome tomato pie. (Yes, I'm still an epicurean adventurer!) You might be asking yourself...tomato pie? What's that? Well, it's a really good flaky pie crust filled with tomatoes and cheesy goodness, then topped with another good flaky pie crust. Magnificent idea, I must say. We also got squash with which to make "squish", that delectable side item that cooks the squash down with onions and a bit of butter until it is perfectly "squishy". While there, I went on and picked up a couple of nice fall mums with which to adorn our front porch, and Clay got some really nice artisan cheese with which to adorn our bellies. For those of you going to Gatlinburg, we might share!

After the farmer's market, we did our general errands (yay Target!!!) then headed home. Clay had picked up a new video game while we were out (Thanks to all of you who contributed to Clay's X-Box 360 wedding gift!), so he started geeking out on that while I snuggled back into bed to watch TV a while. I'm really not sure how long I lay there in my sleeping stupor, but by the time I woke up, Clay had already gone off on his next adventure. He met up with his friend Mike for a nice afternoon of Backgammon. Left to my own devices, I got very adventurous and...did nothing. I like nothing on Saturdays! Clay finally came home and made us a divine dinner of steak and potatoes, and I decided to finally be industrious. I started some laundry and decided to clean out the pantry. Wow...that pantry. If anyone needs any antique food cans, let me know quickly. They are piled in the garbage now.

So now I'm sitting here, quite full and happy, with a clean pantry, some mostly washed laundry, and night setting in. I think I'll plant my new mums now. And then...we still have half a weekend left!!!! I like weekend.

Change

Change is afoot. NO, I'm not pregnant. NO time soon. (Right, Clay?)
But anyway, I've always struggled with change, but it's funny how if you have someone going through the same things you are and supporting you and standing beside you, maybe it's not so bad. So...change of seasons...change of habits...change is good!

FALL??

One more week behind us in blissful married life, and two more weeks until we head to Gatlinburg! And then...Thanksgiving! And then...Christmas!! And then...um, I dunno yet. Hopefully a tropical vacation! And then...Spring!! Wow, this is all moving a bit too quickly when you put it in perspective. But time really does seem to move that quickly when you're having fun. And I am. I love fall. It's exhiliarating somehow to wake up and find a chill in the air. I love pulling out jeans and sweatshirts. I'm ready to kill off the last puny gerber daisy left from the wedding and plant some fall mums.
This weekend brings parents, parties, a new hair cut, and who knows what else! I'm pumped!
So what do you have going on?

If you write it, they will come.

Or so they say. We'll see. But I'm here, and writing.

I spent today with the nephews, Cooper and Collin. Time flies when you're having fun! Carrie Beth and Andy thought that Clay and I might like to take the boys out on an adventure. However, when I asked Cooper if he'd rather go out or stay home, he clearly wanted to stay home. I mean, there's not much better than spending a Saturday afternoon at home in nothing but your Spiderman boxers. Collin was quite contented to stay home as well. And so, our adventures were more of the Play-Doh and Lego persuasion. A good time was had by all.

On a very important note, Clay changed his first diaper tonight. And it was a poopy one! I'm very proud of him. He got in on right side forward and everything! I'm hoping to have him well broken in before we start having our own kiddos, so we appreciate Collin's cooperation on this matter. He gave a bottle, too!!

No, Mim and Granny, that doesn't really mean we're starting soon. Don't get your hopes up just yet. But, I am trying to whittle that "two year plan" to more of a one or one and a half year plan. :-)

Today's the day!

Well, Granny, today is the day. I finally got bored enough at work to blog a bit again. Not much has really happened since the last post, right? Dad's accident, a new nephew, my marriage and Italian honeymoon...yadda yadda. Those can't be too important, right? Ok, maybe they are a bit worthy of blogging about, but on the other hand, they're mostly what's kept me from blogging as well. Thank you cards are about all I've written for the last several months. It's been so long that I actually had to recreate this account somehow. I think even Stephanie D. has me beat in the blogging, which is mostly sad, considering she has 4 young children and all. Andy's blogging has slacked off a bit, which helps my case a wee bit, but now even Andrew F. is blogging. That does make me look pretty bad.

So here I am. Back for the moment. Should bets start getting placed today on when the next blog will be??
