Snowed in...or out

At this point, the idea of being "snowed in" sounds delightful. Unfortunately, with no power at home, we're more "snowed out". Clay was clever enough to book us a hotel room for three nights. We dropped by home after work tonight (Thursday) and packed some bags, then headed for our new temporary abode. They had quoted Clay $95/night, but upon check-in, they offered us their weekly rate of $200/WEEK. It didn't take us long to make that decision, so we're tucked safely into a heated room for the next week. On the downside, this is a "pet-friendly" hotel, so the lobby looks like a scene out of the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. It's quite the adventure. We're definitely among the luckiest here in town. Most are without power, and temps are dropping quickly in the homes. Generators and kerosene heaters are not to be found anywhere near Louisville at this point, so there are some very cold people out there right now. We're snugging in and appreciating what we have, especially at our hugely bargainous price. We're wishing warm thoughts for friends and relatives in Mayfield, who apparently have it much worse than we do here, with no end in sight. Stay warm, all!!!!!!

Laundry

The Good: Laundry's done!
The Bad: I forgot to empty pockets
The Ugly: Two tubes of Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers and one check were in the pockets

Damage was relatively minimal considering. Those with uncashed checks involved in this story have been contacted.

A Weekend in Rebus

This weekend started out with babysitting
and

We had fantastic time playing

with Cooper, even though he beat us embarrassingly each and every time we played each and every game. Collin just
the whole night after having a major meltdown before Andy and Carrie Beth could even get out the door.

arrived with no real plan in mind. A free weekend?!?! What's that? Clay and Lori decided to run some errands. We went toto look into getting me a new phone. I was spending too much on text messages, and needed a new phone as well. I got discouraged, and decided to do more research. Then we went to
where we found that
was on sale!! (Actual colors more like)
I was so excited to get the new bedding! We came home and further deliberated the phone issue, and while I have really wanted
for a very long time, the monthly service charge was just unreasonable. So I pretty much decided I had settled for just a run-of-the-mill standard phone at T-Mobile. We were headed back to T-Mobile on
when I remembered that I get a work discount on plans at
So we dropped in there just to see if they could give us any better deal than
I inquired about the discount, and was told that it's a HUGE 24%! "But that doesn't apply to the
, does it?" Of course it does!! Our decision suddenly became quite simple, and I got a new
as a wonderful and very early
What a great weekend!! I've also done a bit of embroidery and have been fervently reading
Clay and I just finished off some delightful
for dinner from our new favorite grocery store
That about wraps up our rebus weekend review. I'm off to continue playing with my new
Have a great week!
