False Alarm

Well, after signing up for Mary Kay, I received my "welcome packet". It did not take me long to peruse the packet and realize this just isn't for me. I already quit. Apparently I do not have the start-up money or the wardrobe this group seems to require. From my understanding, not all MK groups work the same. The one I landed in seems rather like a sorority. While sororities and MK are wonderful for some people, I've never really fit into such groups. So...my short-lived venture into entrepreneurialism has ended. Cest la vie!

On another note, though... I have found a group that I'm really enjoying! Some of you already know about the class I'm taking, but others may as well find out so that you can have your laugh for the day as well. I'm currently enrolled in a belly dancing class. I've always thought it was a beautiful art, and when a friend mentioned that she was taking lessons, I started inquiring more. I've been going for about 6 weeks now, and I'm hooked! The first half of the hour long class is basically stretching and yoga type exercises. The second half we are up and really moving! We all wear "coin belts" or "hip scarves" which are really pretty scarves with tons of little clinky metal coins sewn onto them. They shake and tinkle and make the prettiest of sounds!! I'm definitely drawn to all things shiny (thanks, Granny!) . This is the first time I recall really enjoying this much physical activity.

I think that's about all the excitement in my life right now. Louisville has gotten past the Street Rod Nationals last weekend that fills our city with the finest of funny cars, and now we're all gearing up for the State Fair. My Pre-K class has entered a sunflower and some marigolds, so we're pretty excited about that.

Ma'am and George are up for the weekend, so I'm off to get showered and ready to go meet up with them for a while. I've heard rumor that Cooper will be having an art lesson with Mim today, so I'm hoping to make it in time for that. If I'm lucky, I'll get one of his pieces of refrigerator art to bring home with me!!!

I'm sorry your MK didn't work for you. I think you would have been a good one. You would be so knowledgeable and helpful as well as a good representation of the product. You always look so pretty and you could certainly inform people on how fast they can apply it and look gorgeous.
I'm impressed and excited about your venture. Your'e welcome about inheriting the shinny traits from me. Yes it is graceful and looks like a lot of fun. Papa will be glad to watch you perform. We saw some at Bush Gardens when were there once and I had to just drag him away at time to go. He was fascinated as was I. Good luck and have fun with it.
Keep us posted on your kidergarten
fair project. I'm sure they will do well. You are so creative with them.
I know you enjoyed your Mom & Dad. Hope you didn't let Cooper get too messy. I'm so anxious to see him, as well as you, his mom & daddy. Loads of love
