Not to be left behind...

I decided to go on and join the 21st century and create a blog. All the cool kids are doing it. I'm typically the last to join in any technical revolution, so I thought I should hurry before this one is over.
According to my limited understanding and viewing of other blogs, I think this is the area where I'm supposed to do like a "Dear Diary" or "Things I Did Today". I still have my first diary hidden away somewhere, so I'm fairly certain that one isn't necessary here. I'll just go more with the "Things I'm Thinking/Doing Lately" type of blog. Be warned. My thoughts and actions are often scary. Don't delve too deeply here if you're faint of spirit or prone to heart attack.

With all of that disclaimer business aside, I'll carry on to the actual business of the day.

Due to the fact that we can't ship any of my rotten Pre-K children off to school until the fall, and the fact that we just keep bringing younger children into the center, our school is beginning to swell and feel a bit overrun. Therefore, in order to even some things out, my off day has been changed from Fridays to Mondays. I'm totally fine with that, as I do get to keep my 4 day work week, and it still gives me 3 day weekends. I really have no room to complain about that at all. The boss woman admitted that the original plan was to take my day off away from me completely, but that she feared I would quit if she did. Then she asked point blank if I planned on staying. I was honest. Not really. I'm not sure when, but I just can't stay at that job forever. I've become fairly certain that there will be NO room for growth in my current job unless someone dies. Not likely, as the management crew is close to my age. So...I'm now considering looking into a career in Human Resources. The investigative work has just begun, but I'm not sure there are as many jobs out there for HR as I had originally assumed. I'll keep you posted on this possible career change.

So...on to what most readers here will actually want to hear. I got to keep Cooper today!! He slept in til 9, then helped Amy and I in our apartment hunt. He was such a trooper! I was with him all weekend this weekend, yet every single day, it seems that he's doing or saying something new. His crawling is now officially at "lightning speed", as is his eating. The only thing he's really taking his time with now is naps. After sleeping in so late this morning, he still acted sleepy most of the morning. He actually fell asleep in the car on the way home from lunch. I put him in his bed and he played around for a while, but fell asleep again from about 2 until 5:30! At that point, I realized I was almost out of time with him so I just woke him up. I'm blaming Mim for all of his tiredness. She wore him out this weekend!!

I think that's it for now. I'm couch-sitting at Doug's, and anxiously awaiting the beginning of "The Bachelor", one of those stupid reality tv shows that I got sucked into one bored night. That's happening way too often these days.

Sadly, that's all that's going on in my world this very moment.

Lori, so glad you are joining the blogging world. I will love reading your thoughts regardless of how scarry. You are enough like me nothing will affect this old heart of mine.
Sorry your work load is getting heavier but continue to demand your 4 day week as Cooper needs you the 5th day. I can't think what HR consist of or how much extra schooling will be required. Sounds impressive. I'm not familiar with couch sitting but assume it is like house, pet, or baby sitting. Hope the pay is as good as that might be a job prospect for you. Keep spoiling my Cooper and have him ready for me whenI get to see him. Grnny
