Vacation!

Clay and I are vacating this week. We've had a wonderful weekend filled with a nice dinner Friday night, a really fun street fair Saturday, and shopping and Fantasy Football drafts today. (You can probably figure out who did the shopping and who did the FF Draft.)

Tomorrow, though, we are embarking on our newest adventure. We'll be heading out tomorrow morning REALLY early (like before 10!) for Chicago. We're planning on hitting the aquarium, some sort of fancy schmancy art museum, dining lots, and more. I'll give more details upon our return.

Speaking of the return, next Saturday we're hosting a Labor Day party. Our parties are known to have between 30 and 75 attendees, so the planning stages are already in progress for that matter. I do LOVE a good party! I get to get out all of my fun serving pieces and fill them up with all of my favorite finger foods, then share it all with tons of friends. I can't think of many things more fun than that. I'm even going to get out fun tablecloths. Pretty tables always make the food taste better.

Speaking of pretty kitchen-y things, I finished my second tea towel embroidery! Holy cow, Lori Crouch Cundiff has completed not ONE project, but TWO. Even I don't know what to think of that. I do believe I'll go and start a third one right now. Just because I can!

Hope all of your summers have been as packed as ours, and may your falls be full of festivals and deliciousness and colors and allll of those fun things that make fall, well...fall.

I did it!

And as an added bonus, we added this little cheese grater to our "kitchen utensils that look like animals" collection this weekend!

Embroidery??

Oh. My. Gosh. I have a new obsession. For today, anyway. We all know I'm not so hot with the follow through. But check out what I've accomplished today!!

This accomplishment took a major pep talk from Grandmama, but I'm well on my way. You don't have to point out the rough start at the bottom right of the pot, or the uneven stitches, but I'm making some giant crafty progress here! Stay tuned for updates! I have to go get more thread because I didn't think "this far ahead of my nose" as George would say.
