Snowed in...or out
At this point, the idea of being "snowed in" sounds delightful. Unfortunately, with no power at home, we're more "snowed out". Clay was clever enough to book us a hotel room for three nights. We dropped by home after work tonight (Thursday) and packed some bags, then headed for our new temporary abode. They had quoted Clay $95/night, but upon check-in, they offered us their weekly rate of $200/WEEK. It didn't take us long to make that decision, so we're tucked safely into a heated room for the next week. On the downside, this is a "pet-friendly" hotel, so the lobby looks like a scene out of the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. It's quite the adventure. We're definitely among the luckiest here in town. Most are without power, and temps are dropping quickly in the homes. Generators and kerosene heaters are not to be found anywhere near Louisville at this point, so there are some very cold people out there right now. We're snugging in and appreciating what we have, especially at our hugely bargainous price. We're wishing warm thoughts for friends and relatives in Mayfield, who apparently have it much worse than we do here, with no end in sight. Stay warm, all!!!!!!
