4th of July...
is my new best friend!
It's not even officially here yet, but I already love this holiday this year. Our center is closed on Tuesday, but I went on and took Monday off for good measure. (It's always a good idea to plan ahead!)
Friday night, Clay took me to dinner at the Come Back Inn across the river. I hadn't been to that location, and we really enjoyed it! It's really funny to go through downtown Louisville and cross right over a short bridge into a town much like Mayfield. After dinner, we strolled through the antique-like streets of Jeffersonville, and had a really nice time.
Saturday, we decided to be beach bums and spent part of the day at the pool. We were only hour or so, but I still managed to turn a nice shade of pink. After pooling around, Clay and I headed to a birthday gathering for a friend, and then to see the new Superman movie. As most of you can probably imagine, Superman was not my first choice, but I got over that for Clay's sake. In my opinion, though, the movie was crap. Oh well. I made him pay, so no loss there.
Sunday came, and we decided it was another splendid pool day. We planned on staying about and hour or so again, but plans changed. Some of Clay's friends showed up, so we hung out a bit longer. Then more friends showed up, then more... After about 3.5 hours at the pool in the blazing sun, I finally begged off. I already knew I was fried. Sure enough, by the time I got home and took a cold shower, I was beet red. Oh well. It's the price we pay for fun in the sun. After a long nap, I made Doug and Clay take me to dinner. Perfect day!
It's now Monday, and I'm being really lazy! Clay is at work for the morning, and I just polished off a nice bowl of watermelon while watching a movie. Life is good. I'm heading off now to toss in a load of laundry and start some lunch for when Clay gets off work. We have a picnic planned at a friend's house tonight, and if lucky, another planned for tomorrow...with Cooper!
I simply adore the 4th of July!!!
