August??

How did August happen? Weren't we just in the heart of January or so?

Summer is flying by my eyes. Somehow, summer in love is a lot more fun than other kinds of summers. There's been lots going on. For one thing, Clay and I have been spending many a weekend afternoon at the pool. It's quite easy to pretend swimming isn't exercise on a hot summer day when you can swim and swim and never even realize you're sweating. We like that.

I've also been enjoying watching my flowers grow this summer. I planted three pots full of begonias at my house in the spring, and they are absolutely flourishing. I had no idea they could get so big! They've been blooming non-stop since I got them. I also planted a couple of Gerbera Daisies at Clay's house. They were doing "ok" for a while, but Mom suggested Miracle grow, and now they're popping out 4-6 blooms at a time! It's unreal!! I have a couple ferns going as well, but they are just kinda hanging in there. Since they live up on the porch, they have to rely on me for water much more than the other plants, so they're kinda lagging behind.

On a much more exciting note, we have discovered a couple great new restaurants this weekends! We had heard some whispered excitement building over a new breakfast spot called Toast on Market St. downtown. We had to try it out, of course! The food was unbelievably good, and we had to gather friends and go again this morning after enjoying it so much yesterday. Twice in one weekend is pretty high accolade from us!
We also tried out a new Italian place tucked neatly in the Highlands. By "tucked", I do mean it's really tucked away. It's called Gallo Rosso, and you have to go way back down a flowery alley to even find the door. It was pretty good food, and a very very quaint atmosphere. I'm sure we'll be back there as well, but maybe not within 24 hours.

Clay and I have been to a concert, a play, and some wonderful restaurants this weekend. Is it any wonder I love this man? Now we're off to find friends, food, and tasty beverage so maybe I'll check in again in another month or so.

And btw, you all can thank Andrew Futrell for finally getting me to blog again. He can really be pushy!!

"Thank You Andrew Futrell" I was getting very jealous of Clay as I wasn't hearing from you Lori. I can see you are very busy and sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you have Clay in your life. It sounds like you are getting quite a green thumb. I undrestand about the watering. By this time of the year I'm totaly tired of fooling with flowers. After all I gave them a good start so they should be able to make it on their own. Thanks for the update and Andrew stay pushy if that's what it takes. I will help you all I can. Hugs

Next year...silk plants!!
As for the concert, pretty good! Too loud and crowded as are most concerts, but enjoyable.
The play, though. Not so much for me. The actors did a good job, but the play was pretty dumb. When it ended the whole audience just kind of sat there waiting for the ending that never came.
